1. Introduction
This Agreement is between Family Court Strategy (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and you (“the client”).
It sets out the terms under which we will provide support, guidance, and administrative assistance as part of our Family Court Litigant Friend Advisory Service.
By engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
2. Our Role
We provide non-legal support to individuals involved in, or preparing for, family court proceedings.
Our role may include:
- Helping you understand court processes and documentation
- Assisting with form-filling and preparation of statements
- Supporting you to stay organised and confident during proceedings
- Providing emotional and procedural support in or outside the courtroom
We do not:
- Provide legal advice or legal representation
- Act as a solicitor, barrister, or legal advisor
- Correspond directly with the court, CAFCASS, or any opposing party on your behalf
- Guarantee any specific outcome in your case
If you require legal advice, we strongly recommend that you seek independent advice from a qualified solicitor or barrister.
3. Our Responsibilities
We agree to:
- Treat all personal and case information as strictly confidential (see our Confidentiality Statement)
- Provide accurate and professional information to the best of our ability
- Be clear about our fees and the nature of services before any work begins
- Conduct ourselves with professionalism, respect, and impartiality
4. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information relevant to your case
- Take full responsibility for all decisions and actions you take in your proceedings
- Be respectful and honest in all communications with us
- Notify us promptly of any changes to your contact details or case situation
You understand and accept that you remain a self-representing party in any legal proceedings, even if you are receiving our support.
5. Fees and Payment
Our fees will be clearly communicated before any work begins.
Payment terms are as follows:
- Fees may be charged on a per-session, hourly, or fixed-fee basis depending on the service
- Payment is due in advance of each session or in accordance with an agreed invoice schedule
- Payments can be made via bank transfer, debit/credit card, or other approved method
If payment is not received on time, we reserve the right to suspend services until payment is made.
6. Cancellations and Rescheduling
- If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give at least 24 hours’ notice.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a 50% fee.
- If we need to cancel or reschedule, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative time.
7. Confidentiality
All information shared during our work together will be treated as strictly confidential, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Statement.
We will not share your information without your consent, unless required by law or if there is a risk of harm to you or others.
8. Data Protection
Your personal data will be collected, stored, and processed in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

9. Limitation of Liability
We take all reasonable care in the delivery of our services. However, we cannot accept liability for:
- Any decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from your case
- Losses or damages arising from reliance on information or materials provided by us
Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service provided.
Nothing in this Agreement limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
10. Ending the Agreement
Either party may end this agreement at any time by giving written notice.
If you terminate the agreement after work has begun, fees will be due for all completed work and any reasonable preparatory time.

12. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

By instructing us to support you regarding your matter, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
